Practice Policy Regarding COVID-19

Protocols for the well-being of our patients, staff and community.

We are determined to convert this disruption into an opportunity for excellence.

What we ask of you

  • At this time we will be open for appointments only, so please call ahead. This includes dispensing for eyewear or contact lenses.

  • Please fill out our online history form and update at home.

  • Please wear a mask to your appointment.

  • Understand that we will be monitoring your temperature upon arrival.

  • Respect social distance. You know what to do!

Any Patient with Fever, Cough, Malaise, or Contact with COVID-19+ Individuals:

  • Please do not come in if you have any symptoms of respiratory illness (fever, chills, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, malaise, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste). Please call your primary care physician and seek medical care and guidance if symptoms are severe.

  • If you have had contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days, we ask you to please inform us so we can reschedule your appointment for a later date.

What you can expect from us

  • We have adjusted patient scheduling to reduce the number of patients in the office at any given time.

  • To minimize the number of people in the office, patient companions will be asked to wait in the car unless necessary for physical assistance or a language barrier.

  • All patients and staff will be screened prior to entering with a temperature check to rule out fever and a symptom questionnaire. No one will be allowed to enter with symptoms of respiratory illness or fever.

  • If it becomes too crowded in the office, you may be asked to return to your car to wait.

  • We apologize in advance if we are a little less chatty than usual in an effort to shorten your time in the office.

  • All patients and staff will be masked.

  • We have plexiglass barriers at the reception desk and optical dispensing tables.

  • All frames will be disinfected between patients, so you can enjoy your shopping!

  • All exam rooms, diagnostic equipment and the pretest area are disinfected before every patient encounter and common touch points in the office are sterilized hourly.

  • We now require intake forms to be submitted online in advance of your appointment to reduce the number of patients in the waiting room and to reduce your time spent in office.

  • Please let us know if you are having difficulty completing your forms online and we can do as much as possible via phone.

  • We are offering TeleMedicine including Virtual Consultations and Virtual Follow-Ups (for select appointment types) as options to reduce the number of patients seen in the office. Contact the office to learn more.

Our goals are to keep our patients and staff healthy and to deliver great eyecare. But we also want to help restart our community.

Please join us as we all try to find our way to normal!
